Kicking Horse launches the Big Mountain Centre 07.04.2008
Kicking Horse Resort in Golden, BC played host to several industry professionals this weekend at the launch of the new Big Mountain Centre: a program designed to teach riders how to survive and have fun in big mountain terrain. The goal of the centre is to integrate the techniques, mindset and factors needed for an aspiring big mountain rider to safely play in serious terrain....

As with every year ISPO is a week of friends, parties, beer and strippers..ah.. we mean skis... Our stand at ISPO was a great success with media and press hounding us about our next years lineup... we still have a few secrets which we're hanging onto...suffice to say the lineup is getting bigger with a healthy dose of reverse and flat camber big mountain skis and backcountry freestyle twins... look out for more soon and check the photos in the gallery section.

That's right kids it's the opening of the 2007/8 season and to celebrate we're kicking it off in style in Verbier's infamous Wonderbar with the motherf**kin Dicktators playing live!.. heave on!... there'll be stickers, tshirts and more giveaways on the night - but be early as its bound to be a fullhouse...

The role is exciting in that the Rep will be Faction's Chief Activist in their given region. Headquarters in Switzerland and North America will provide support, advertising, brand guidelines and direction, but these Activists will have significant responsibility building visibility of the brand.

British Freeski Tour winners 08.11.2007
After seven weeks of the tour throughout the artificial and indoor slopes of the UK, we finally have our winners from the British Freeski Tour.

The skiscene in the UK is an incredible training ground for up and coming riders, and we're proud to be a part of supporting the guys and girls out there at ground level.

Next and final stop on the Tour leg is The Brits in Laax in March - don't miss your opportunity to come out and see some of the best skiing around, as well as test our whole lineup of skis.

After The Brits we will announce the winner of our Step Up comp to be sponsored for a year - stay tuned for more information.

Canada Opening Day Tour first dates announced! 08.11.2007
Lake Louise will be opening on November 10 and the Faction crew will be there to celebrate and get some runs in. Watch out for Ross and the Faction demo van.

Next stop is Whistler on the 22nd – don’t miss Shane Carmichael’s band ‘Cobra’ playing live at the after party.

Dec 8. Fernie. The main party on the tour with “Mervyn Albin” playing live. Venue TBC. Not a night to miss.

On its 1st birthday, the UK’s first ever snowsports internet TV channel, SkiTV, gives visitors to the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show the chance to have their five minutes of fame as skiers and boarders are invited onto the SkiTV sofa to have their ‘ski rant’. The clips will form part of a ski show special which will appear on the channel next week.

SkiTV, which is an initiative of the Ski Club of Great Britain, will have a leopard skin ‘ski rant’ sofa on their stand at the Metro Show (Stand 320A), and visitors can turn up to have their say on anything snow related and get their skiing and boarding gripes off their chests. Everyone who gets filmed for SkiTV will also be entered into a draw to win a pair of Faction skis.

These two guys really cement our North American big mountain team and we're glad to be able to give them as much support as possible while they chase their dreams.

FREESTYLE.CH GOES OFF! 28.09.2007
One of the best urban crossover events worldwide - last weekends Freestyle.ch in Zurich was a fantastic weekend with around 40,000 people turning out over the three days to check out the action, drop by the Faction stand and hang out with our team members and friends like Paddy Graham and Flo Weiser.

TJ Schiller, Sammy Carlson and Jon Olsson were throwing it down huuuge in the final.

As always the parties ended around 5am and we'll be back again next year!

We've launched a new initiative to give up and coming riders the help they need to improve quicker, by adding another level of sponsorship - the Am Team. This means we can help younger guys get onto good gear and not have to worry about their equipment while they're growing. We're also helping them improve their profiles by putting them onto our website, and helping hook them up with photographers, filmers and other sponsors.
